Agnes B. Robinson 96 formerly of Memphis Missouri passed away July 7 2011 at the Moberly Nursing and Rehab in Moberly Missouri.She was born September 20 1914 near Bible Grove Missouri to William Don and Myrtle Ellen Roberts Burrus.She attended school at Bible Grove and graduated from Memphis High School Class of 1933. She obtained a 60-hour teaching certificate in 1939 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Kirksville College in 1953. She later attained a Masters degree in remedial reading. Agnes taught school for 40 years in Scotland and Knox counties. Her last ten years of teaching was in Memphis before her retirement in July 1977. She married Harold William Robinson on July 3 1939 and to this union a daughter was born.She attended the First Presbyterian Church and was initiated into the Greensburg Order of Eastern Star #258 later becoming a member of the Colony Chapter #543. She was also active in the Memphis local chapter of D.A.R.Agnes enjoyed quilting and has completed numerous quilts to be treasured. She also enjoyed traveling but received her most enjoyment when she could spend time with her family.She is survived by her daughter Janice Gartman and her husband Henry of Moberly Missouri a grandson Henry Jr. Hank Gartman and his wife Jeanette of Columbia Missouri and two great grandchildren: Ella Rose Gartman and Jack Henry Gartman both of Columbia Missouri a sister Donna Doty Iberia Missouri and three generations of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents her husband Harold in 1981 five sisters: Velna Fay in infancy Ina June Irma McRobert Virginia Kirkpatrick Iris Mae Ott and a brother Richard Burrus.Visitation will open at noon on Sunday June 10 2011 with the family present to greet friends from 6 until 8 P.M. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30 P.M.Funeral services will be held at the Memphis Funeral Home on Monday June 11 2011 at 10 A.M. with Reverend Dana Slavin officiating. Music will be provided by Ann Luther and Elaine Forrester. Burial will follow in the Greensburg Cemetery in rural Knox County. Casket bearers will be Henry GartmanJr. Joel Kapfer Eugene Kennedy Glen Lister Bill McRobert and L. M. McRobert. David McRobert and D. L. Stone will serve as honorary casket bearers.
