Obituary

Allen W. Fox, 87 years, 5 months and 12 days of Memphis, Missouri peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania on April 14, 1938, the son of Ivan H. and Hettie (Weaver) Fox.

On January 21, 1960, he married Vera Z. Horst. Together they raised six sons and three daughters. After 40 years of marriage, Vera passed away on October 9, 2000.                          On June 15, 2002, he married Vera M. Martin.

Allen was a member of Indian Creek Mennonite Church of rural Memphis, Missouri. He and his family were among the first Mennonite families to move to the Memphis area in 1973. He spent many years as a dairy farmer. He also worked as an employee at Oakwood Industries and Raytec Manufacturing. He also helped with various community projects.

He is survived by his wife Vera and his children;

Luke and Miriam Fox of Memphis, Missouri

Paul and Brenda Fox of Greentop, Missouri

Dorcas and Talmon Martin of Memphis, Missouri.

He is also survived by three brothers; 53 grandchildren 109 great-grandchildren; seven stepchildren; 60 step grandchildren and 102 step great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents; his first wife Vera; four brothers; a son-in-law Enos Zimmerman; a stepson and a step grandson. His only sister also passed away two days after him.

Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Indian Creek Mennonite Church south of Memphis, Missouri.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center south of Memphis, Missouri.

Burial will be in the Indian Creek Mennonite Cemetery south of Memphis, Missouri.

The family requests no flowers, only your presence and prayers.
