Alvin H. Martin, 86, of Rutledge Missouri, passed away on August 9, 2024 at his residence south of Rutledge, Missouri.
He was born November 27, 1937 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the son of Henry W. and Leah (Horning) Martin.
On November 26, 1959, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, he was united in marriage to Eva N. Martin, and to this union eight children were born.
In January 1974 they moved their family to Rutledge, Missouri to make their home. He was a member of Millport Mennonite Church.
Alvin is survived by his wife, Eva Martin of Rutledge, Missouri; his eight children, Mark Martin of Rutledge Missouri, Earl and Thelma Martin of Memphis Missouri, Warren and Rose Ann Martin of Colby Wisconsin, Irvin and Dorothy Martin of Rutledge Missouri, William and Wilda Martin of Rutledge Missouri, David and Doris Martin of Rutledge Missouri, Aaron and Rhoda Martin of Pulaski Iowa, and Rhoda and Daniel Zeiset of Rutledge Missouri; forty-nine grandchildren, seventy-eight great grandchildren; one brother, Charles H. Martin of Ephrata Pennsylvania; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Preceding him in death were siblings; Howard H. Martin, H. Moses Martin, Anna H. Martin, Elsie Eberly, H. Henry Martin, H. John Martin, Ira H. Martin, Paul H. Martin, Leah H. Zimmerman, Esther Mae High, Mark H. Martin, a daughter-in-law Mary Martin, and a granddaughter Cheryl Martin.
Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center, south of Memphis, Missouri.
Burial will be in the Millport Mennonite Cemetery south of Rutledge, Missouri.
Alvin Martin's family request your presence and prayers only, no flowers please.
