Barbara Ann Bruegenhemke Kiley, of Lee's Summit, Missouri formerly from Baring, MO passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. She was born February 23, 1931 in Edina, Missouri, the first child, of Leo Joseph Bruegenhemke and Verna Mae Lingenfelter Bruegenhemke. Barbara attended school at St. Joseph and Baring High Schools. Barbara then went on to attend Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois and worked for Meinhardt Cartage Trucking Company from 1950 to 1955. Barbara married Richard P. Kiley on October 1, 1955 at St. Aloysius Parish with Father Stephan Carew presiding over the ceremony. To this union, Barbara and Dick were blessed with six children: Deborah Kiley (Eugene) Twellman, Richard (Rebecca) Kiley, Nancy Kiley (Karl) Kuhlmann, Ann Kiley (Jonathan) Pye, Ellen Kiley (Craig) Kurth, and Stephen (Cindy) Kiley. Grandchildren: Megan (Brandon) Morrow, Nicole (Alex) Lesani, Erin Kiley, Alexandra (Michael) Garden, Paige Kuhlmann, Shannon Kiley (Patrick) Probst, Karson Kuhlmann, Zachary Kurth, Taylor (Stevie) Spickler, and Connor Kuhlmann. Great grandchildren: Harper and Vivienne Morrow, Corinne and Holden Lesani and Hudson Garden. Preceded her in death were Richard "Dick" Kiley, husband, Leo and Verna (Lingenfelter) Bruegenhemke, parents, Shirley Bruegenhemke Mayer, sister, Donald and Alice (Kriegshauser) Bruegenhemke, brother and sister-in-law, Dorothy Kiley Fox, sister in law, James "Big Jim" Kiley, brother in law, Ethel Lingenfelter Graham, and other family members. Surviving are Carolyn Brugenhemke (George) Higgins, sister and brother in law, Mike and Carol Fox, and Jim and Linda Fox, and many nieces and nephews. Barbara lived north of Baring most of her life on the family farm. Barbara lived a vibrant and colorful life. She was noted for her flowers, being an avid golfer, and was a member of the Baring Country Club, Edina Country Club and Kirksville Country Club. She was also a lifelong member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Barbara and Dick were accomplished travelers and they enjoyed many adventures together. She liked to play bridge and four point pitch. Later in life, she and Dick wintered in South Padre Island, Texas. Barbara was an enthusiastic sports fan following her favorite teams: Knox County Eagles, Missouri Tigers, and St. Louis Cardinals. Family was very special to Barbara and she hosted many family celebrations on the farm. Barbara will have a private Catholic mass and celebration of life. It was Barbara's wishes to be cremated and her remains were spread jointly with her beloved husband, Dick, on the Kiley Centennial Farm.
