Obituary

Betsy Lynn Gundy, 57, of Montrose, Iowa, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at her home.

She was born November 12, 1958, at Kirksville, Missouri, to Kenneth Guy and Opal Hildred (Aeschliman) Gardine.

Betsy attended Scotland County R-1 High School, graduating with the class of 1977. She attended Southeast Community College in Keokuk, Iowa, where she received training to be a Physical Therapist Assistant.

She married Robert Gundy and to this union, a son, Levi, was born. She also helped raise Troy and Tashia Gundy.

Betsy enjoyed the outdoors and was a lover of nature; seeing beauty in all things. She enjoyed doing photography as a hobby and took many pictures of nature and clouds. She was a happy spirited person, laughing a lot, dancing in her kitchen and more importantly, whistling. She liked to travel and recently made a trip to San Diego, California with a group of girlfriends. However, Betsy's greatest joy was realized when she could be with her son, Levi.

She was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, Iowa.

She is survived by her father, Guy Gardine, of Memphis, Missouri; a brother, David M. Gardine, of Gladstone, Missouri and a sister, Jo Beth Harvey and her husband, Darrell, of Memphis; stepchildren, Troy Gundy and his wife, Alicia, of Keokuk, Iowa and Tashia Gundy and friend, Ken Crowther, of Morton, Mississippi; four step grandchildren: Kortney Gundy and Zack Gundy of Keokuk, Iowa and Richard Gundy and Brodie Crowther of Morton, Mississippi. Also surviving are two nephews: Ken McMinn and his wife, Jennifer and Mikel Harvey; two nieces: Melissa Hamm and her husband, Rob and Trisha Harvey; five great nieces and nephews: Kaitlyn McMinn, Haylee McMinn, Jace McMinn, Hilary Hamm, Lucas Hamm and a special friend, Joe Lierle, of Mendon, Illinois.

Betsy was preceded in death by her mother, Hildred Gardine, a sister, Becky McMinn and her son, Levi Gundy.
