Elizabeth "Betty" Louise Fetters, 97, of Memphis, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

Elizabeth was born November 8, 1928, the daughter of John and Mary C. Delaney Fetters in Fort Madison, Iowa.                                                    She attended Memphis High School in Memphis, Missouri where she graduated in the class of 1946.

Elizabeth born in Fort Madison, Iowa lived for a short amount of time in Baring, Missouri before moving to Memphis, Missouri where she worked at the Bank of Memphis for a number of years.

She was co-owner of the Grub House and a shoe repair business in Memphis. Worked for Tippett Oil for a number of years and the Izecream Shop in Downing, Missouri. Later moving to Kansas City, Missouri she finished her working days with the IRS retiring in 1993.

Active in the community Elizabeth was an active Charter Member in Wallace A. Gillispie VFW Ladies Auxilliary Post #4958, Ladies Guild, and an devoted member of the Saint John's Catholic Church, where she delivered Meals on Wheels.

She enjoyed her membership in the Baring Country Club and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinal's.

Elizabeth enjoyed making all feel welcome and caring for those in need, was quick witted, sharp minded, and enjoyed socializing over coffee or an occasional glass of wine. She enjoyed volunteering her time within the community and the church. A special thank you to the staff and residents of Schuyler County Nursing Home for always being so kind during Elizabeth's stay at they're facility.

Elizabeth is survived by a sister, Mildred Klem; nieces, Ann and David Gray and Delaney Gundy and Matt; several DeRosear, Klem, Gundy, Rockhold and Fetters nieces and nephews (that she always promised a new pony for their birthdays) and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Fetters along with her church family.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Fetters; four sisters and brother-in-laws, Mary (Jess) Rockhold, Ellen (Ted) Gundy, Joan (Dwight) DeRosear and Ron Klem; and one brother, John Fetters; and a dear friend, Irene Kazwara, her partner in crime.                                    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026 at the St. John's Catholic Church.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday at the St. John's Catholic Church.
