Charles William "Bill" Wiley, 76, of Arbela, Missouri, passed away December 10, 2013, at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri. He was born March 18, 1937, at Mount Sterling, Iowa to Frank Raymond, Sr. and Violet Cloris Grimes Wiley. He attended school in Cantril, Iowa and was a graduate of Cantril High School, Class of 1955. In September of 1960, Bill enlisted in the service, and served with the United States Army for two years performing heavy equipment operation. He married Carol Lynn Balogh, whom he had met while serving in the Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, on August 5, 1961 at Waynesville, Missouri. To this union three children were born. Through the years, Bill farmed and raised cattle in rural Van Buren and Scotland Counties until he and Carol moved to Arbela in 1973. He continued to raise cattle until his death. He also worked for Scotland County, doing road maintenance. He was affiliated with the Arbela United Methodist Church. Bill enjoyed reading westerns and doing "Search-A-Word" puzzles but he realized his greatest enjoyment when he could spend time with his family and working with his cattle. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Gordon Wiley and his wife, Dee, of Arbela, Missouri; two daughters: Christi Wiley of Arbela and her fiancée Harold Kraus, of Gorin, Missouri; Karen Simpson and her fiancée, Matt Stiles, both of Mt. Sterling, Iowa; four grandchildren: Gregory Wiley and his wife, Sarah, of Franklin, Tennessee; Cody Simpson and Jamaisa Simpson, both of Memphis, Missouri; Jason Findling and his wife, Brandi, of Waynesville, Missouri; three great-grandchildren: Elianna Wiley, Isaiah Charles Wiley and Felicity Findling. Also surviving are four sisters: Virginia Sutter and her husband, Melvin, of Polk City, Iowa; Vivian Williams of Atlantic, Iowa; Vonnie Ash and her husband, Randy, and Vicki Wiley, all of Cantril, Iowa; four brothers: Wayne Wiley and his wife, Kay, of Milton, Iowa; Glen Wiley and his wife, Marilyn, of Mt. Sterling, Iowa; Paul Wiley of Cantril, Iowa; Robert Wiley and his wife, Crystal, of Milton, Iowa; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carol, on January 25, 2013 and two brothers: Joseph Wiley and Frankie Wiley.
