Obituary

Billie J. Shelley 73 of rural Memphis Missouri died at his home on Saturday March 17 2012.He was born March 30 1938 in Scotland County Missouri to William Jewell and Mary Belle Kirkland Shelley.He grew up in Scotland County and was a 1956 graduate of Memphis High School. He married Joanna Peck on February 4 1956 at Adair Missouri and to this union seven children were born.Billie was an over-the-road truck driver for many years before retiring in 2008. He was a social member of the V.F.W. in Memphis.He is survived by his wife Joanna of rural Memphis three sons: Mark Shelley and his wife Dianna of Canton Missouri Greg Shelley and his wife Beverly of Memphis Missouri Chris Shelley and his wife Christy of Naples Florida four daughters: Janie Parton of Memphis Sherry Lantz and her husband Dave of Columbia Missouri Sindi Burke and her husband Jack of St. Charles Missouri Lana McRobert and her husband Dave of Memphis fifteen grandchildren: Brian Shelley Evan Shelley Jeffrey Shelley Josh Shelley Jared Shelley Kyle Shelley Sarah Shelley Ian Simons Hannah Simons William McRobert Grant McRobert Charlotte McRobert Mindy Parton Heather Gjorgjievski Colin Burke and many great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Bobby Shelley and his wife Lois two sisters: Nancy Girardin and Louise Newland all of Memphis many many nieces nephews and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents a grandson Cody Shelley and a son-in-law Rick Parton.Visitation will open at Memphis Funeral Home after 10 A.M. Tuesday March 20 2012 with the family present to greet relatives and friends from 6 until 8 P.M. Cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at Memphis Funeral Home on Wednesday March 21 2012 at 10 A.M. Burial of cremains will follow in the Dover Cemetery in Rural Scotland County.
