Bina Childress 86 died Wednesday December 22 2010 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis Missouri.She was born May 10 1924 in Schuyler County Missouri to Noah William and Clara Josephine Miller Jackson. She graduated from Downing High School in Downing Missouri Class of 1942. She married Warren Junior Childress on August 13 1942 at Queen City Missouri and to this union two children were born.Bina taught school for a year and she and Junior farmed until 1964.She also worked at several stores in Downing and Memphis including Coast to Coast Ethel Newland Department Store restaurants and was manager of D&D Motel. Bina loved to cook and read. She was a member of the Coffey Church.She is survived by her husband Junior of Memphis a son Jack Childress and his wife Judy of Downing Missouri and daughter Sue Myers and her husband Mike of Memphis Missouri a grandson Chris Childress and his wife Billie Jo of Memphis Missouri and a granddaughter Kelle Gunnell and her husband Bill of Memphis Missouri four great grandchildren: Kala Kara and Kyle Childress and Shane Gunnell four step grandchildren: Melissa Craighead of Tecumseh Oklahoma Beverly Young of Overland Park Kansas Randy Henry of Leavenworth Kansas and Doug Myers of Moody Texas. Other survivors include two sisters: Mary Baxter of Memphis Missouri and Wilma Lee Baxter of Greentop Missouri a sister-in-law Jewell Paige of Oak Lawn Illinois and several nieces nephews cousins and friends.Bina was preceded in death by her parents three brothers: Leland Jackson Loyd Jackson and Bernie Jackson two sisters: Lela Pearl and Martha McConnell a son-in-law Tom Huggins two brothers-in-law: Wilford Childress and Bill Childress a sister-in-law Mary Nell Kay and her parents-in-law Warren and Nellie Childress.Funeral services will be held Monday December 27 2010 at 1:30 P.M. at Memphis Funeral Home with Brother Larry Smith officiating. Duane Goff will provide the prelude and postlude. Burial will follow at Parkview Memorial Gardens - Veterans Garden of Honor in Kirksville Missouri. Casket bearers will be Tom Baxter Jim Baxter J.D. Baxter Edwin Jackson Chris Childress and Bill Gunnell.
