Obituary

Burley Elmer Bertram Jr. 85 of Memphis Missouri passed away June 6 2011 at the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua Iowa.He was born February 25 1926 in Clark County Missouri to Burley Elmer Sr. and Inez Harris Bertram.He attended school in Granger Missouri and graduated from Keosauqua High School.He married Lois Rochelle Tillerson in January 1977 at Linn County Missouri.Burley farmed in Van Buren County Iowa area and was an auctioneer. He served as executive director of the Mark Twain Regional Planning Commission and as a Comprehensive Health Director for North East Missouri.He was a social member of the Kahoka VFW and was a member of the Missouri Long Riders. He had a passion for horses and enjoyed frequent trail rides. He owned a carriage which he used to escort wedding couples.He is survived by his wife Lois of Memphis Missouri a grandson Tucker Ramsey Columbia Missouri and a great grandson Cole Bertram Luray Missouri and many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Madeline Heath.A sharing of memories service will be held Friday June 10 2011 at 7 P.M. at the Memphis Funeral Home. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date in the Wyaconda Cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Scotland County or Clark County Cancer Fund and may be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home. 378 South Market Street Memphis Missouri 63555.
