Carol Louise (Poston) Parrish, 65, of Baring, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, August 23, 2023, at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

Carol was born, February 25, 1958, in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Louis Richard and Shirley Mae Cassingham Poston.

She helped with the family grocery store and livestock feed company located in Adair, Missouri. Her family moved to Baring, Missouri, where Carol attended grade school and graduated from the Knox County High School in the Class of 1976. She continued her education at Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Missouri, earning a degree in accounting.

Carol married and to this union a son was born. She joined the work force to help support her family, working for the food services at the Baring Elementary School and then the Garment Factory in Memphis, Missouri. In February 2023 she retired, after 30 years with the Kraft Foods in Kirksville, Missouri.

Who was Carol? She was a daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, student, wife, mother, friend, hard worker, skilled power tool user, a deliciously talented baker, card player, huge fan of jigsaw puzzles, deer hunter, carpenter for her home remodeling, and a devoted pet owner to Stinker, Bubbles and Rocky.

Carol is survived by her two sisters, Loretta Poston and Rose Marie Saddler both of Baring, Missouri; her brother, David and Stephenie Poston of Baring, Missouri; cousins, Bobby and Beth Poston of Kirksville, Missouri and Bobby Hayes of Las Cruces, New Mexico; nephews, Shane and Caden Poston of Hurdland, Missouri, Cole Conn of Baring, Missouri, and Riley Poston of Edina, Missouri; step-niece, Kristi Saddler of Kansas City, Missouri; and a son and his family; along with a host of friends.

We already miss the daily adventures we had with this strong woman!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Shirley Poston; and her brother-in-law, Les Saddler.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2023, at the funeral home in Edina.

Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Adair, Missouri.

Pastor Graig Connell will officiate and Casket Bearers will be Shane Poston, Caden Poston, Riley Poston, Cole Conn, Tony Snelling, and Robert Cullers, along with Honorary Bearers, Nathan Overstreet, Tatum Overstreet, Eldon "Bull" Parrish, Bucky Bowen, Terry Mallett, Trevor Snelling, and Austin Snelling.
