Carol Lynn Wiley, 73, of Arbela, Missouri, died at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri on Friday, January 25, 2013. Carol was born August 21, 1939, at Berea, Ohio to Joseph and Verna June Holloway Balogh. The family moved to Mississippi in 1951. She was a graduate of Pascagoula, Mississippi High School, Class of 1957. She attended Huffstetter Business College in Mobile, Alabama. Carol worked for the Civil Service in Mobile, Alabama, at Brookley Air Force Base until she joined the U.S. Army as a WAC in 1960. She met her husband, Charles William (Bill) Wiley, at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. They were married in Waynesville, Missouri on August 5, 1961. To this union three children were born. Carol and Bill later made their home in Arbela, Missouri. She was a member of the Arbela United Methodist Church. She enjoyed writing, especially poems, crocheting and traveling. She is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; a son, Gordon Wiley and his wife, Dee, of Arbela, Missouri; two daughters: Christi Wiley of Arbela and her fiancée, Harold Kraus, of Gorin, Missouri and Karen Simpson and her fiancee, Matt Stiles, of Mt. Sterling, Iowa; four grandchildren: Gregory Wiley and his wife, Sarah, of Victor, Montana; Cody Simpson and Jamaisa Simpson, both of Arbela, Missouri and Jason Findling and his wife, Brandi, currently serving in the U.S. Army; three great grandchildren: Elianna Wiley, Isaiah Wiley and Felicity Findling. Also surviving are cousins, in-laws, many friends and a very special friend, Shirley Bair. She was preceded in death by her parents. Per her request, cremation has been accorded.
