Coleen McWilliam, 89, of Memphis, Missouri, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis. She was born March 24, 1925, in Schuyler County, Missouri, to Wilber A. and Clara Gatts Puttoff. Coleen was raised in the Downing, Missouri, area and attended school in Downing before moving to Memphis and graduated from Memphis High School, Class of 1943 Coleen married Waldo Scott McWilliam on August 6, 1943, at the Christian Church in Memphis by Reverend W. R. Macdowell and to this union three daughters were born. Coleen and Waldo enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Waldo died January 2, 2012. Coleen was a member of the Presbyterian Church and past member of the Mary Circle. She was an excellent homemaker, a great cook and enjoyed playing cards. As a young girl she worked at the Corner Café in Memphis and also at the ordnance plant at Burlington, Iowa. She was very talented and could accomplish almost anything if she decided to do it. She enjoyed planting large gardens preserving much of the produce for her family. She is survived by three daughters: Judy Lake and her husband, Gary, of Monroe City, Missouri; Pat Clary and her husband, Milt and Lori McBee and her husband, Bill, all of Memphis, Missouri. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Mark Auwarter and his wife, Amy, of Mexico, Missouri; Kimberly Auwarter of St. Louis, Missouri; Eric Clary of Paola, Kansas; Tina Luderman and her husband, Shawn, of Bellevue, Nebraska; Lorrin McBee of Kirksville, Missouri; seven great grandchildren: Haley Auwarter, Anna Auwarter, Bryce Sparks, Molly Sparks, Ryan Clary, Madison Luderman, Peyton Luderman, a sister, Elizabeth Kelso, of Downing, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. Coleen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Waldo, two brothers: Virgil Puttoff and Edwin Puttoff and a great granddaughter, Sherri Lynn Auwarter
