David was born on February 6, 1939 , in Caernarvon Township , in Lancaster County , Pennsylvania , the son of Aaron W. and Mary S. Brubaker Martin.

On September 24, 1960 David married Irma K. Huber and to this union eleven children were born.

David and Irma left Pennsylvania and moved to Knox County , Missouri , in 1974, to farm and raise their family.

They are members of the Millport Mennonite Church , Weaverland Conference, southwest of Rutledge , Missouri .

David is survived by his wife Irma; eleven children, Loretta and her husband Paul Wesley Oberholtzer of Loyal, Wisconsin, Laura and her husband Nevin Martin of Memphis, Missouri, Erla and her husband John Abram Martin of Milton, Iowa, Marlene and her husband Lynnford Oberholtzer of Rutledge, Missouri, Mervin and his wife Irene Martin of Gorin, Missouri, Leonard and his wife Rhoda Martin of Memphis, Missouri, Clair and his wife Mary Joyce Martin of Gorin, Missouri, Vernon and his wife Anna Mae Martin of Rutledge, Missouri, Eleanor and her husband Earl Lamar Martin of Memphis, Missouri, David Eugene and his wife Lisa Martin of Memphis, Missouri and Sara Ann Martin of the home in Rutledge, Missouri; seventy-six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Leroy and his wife Edith Martin of Myerstown, Pennsylvania, Lloyd and his wife Arlene Martin of Jonestown, Pennsylvania and Clarence and his wife Anna Ruth Martin of Richland, Pennsylvania; five sisters, Lydia B. Martin of Ephrata, Pennsylvania, Mabel and her husband Melvin Stauffer of Bethel, Pennsylvania, Eva and her husband James Weaver of Myerstown, Pennsylvania, Grace and her husband Joseph Druist of Shirleysburg, Pennsylvania and Edna and her husband William Leinbach of Myerstown, Pennsylvania; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He was loved and will be sadly missed by his family.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Mary Martin; a sister, Vera Martin; a brother, Paul Martin; two grandsons, Jeffrey and Devin Martin and a son-in-law, John David Martin.

Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 1, 2016 , at the Millport Mennonite Church , southwest of Rutledge , Missouri .

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center , South of Memphis, Missouri, on Thursday, December 31, 2015 .

Officiating will be Abner Oberholtzer, Calvin Hoover, Carl Hoover, and Earl Oberholtzer. Casket Bearers will be Matthew Martin, Lavern Martin, Kenton Martin, Jeremy Martin, Elmer Lynn Martin and Tony Martin.

Burial will be in the Millport Mennonite Cemetery southwest of Rutledge , Missouri .
