Deloris Jean Boyer, 85, of Memphis, Missouri, died Tuesday evening, March 10, 2015, at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis. She was born May 8, 1929, in Revere, Missouri, to Golden Leo and Laura Beatrice (Webb) Christian. Deloris grew up in the Revere area and completed the tenth grade. As a young girl she played basketball. She married Okie Daniel Boyer on September 13, 1946, at Arbela, Missouri, with Reverend Mac Dawkins officiating and to this union two daughters were born. Deloris was a wonderful homemaker and farm wife. She had a large garden every year and worked with her husband in the field and occasionally worked for others, driving tractors. Deloris was willing to help any neighbor in need and would help others hang wallpaper. She also enjoyed quilting but her greatest joys were realized when she could spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Deloris was a member of the Arbela Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Okie, of sixty-eight years; two daughters: Bonnie J. Young and her husband, Ronnie, of Memphis; Lela Ann Green and her husband, Rick, of Memphis; three grandchildren: Debbie Blessing and her husband, Jarrod, of Memphis; Brandi Linn Jerome and her husband, Stephen, of Greentop, Missouri and Richard "Rich" Green and his wife, Chrissy, of Memphis; ten great grandchildren: Jacob Blessing, Aaron Blessing, Meghann Young, Tyler Young, Brenna Young, Matthew Jerome, Isabelle Jerome, Charlie Green, Hannah Green, Zachary Green and nieces and nephews. Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Robert Young, a brother, Richard Christian and a sister, Gloria Joyce Brooks.
