Obituary

Denis Dee Deny Clatt 51 of rural Memphis Missouri died Tuesday March 1 2011 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy Illinois.He was born June 9 1959 at Kirksville Missouri to Dee and Merlene Haller Clatt.He attended school in Gorin Missouri and was a graduate of Gorin High School Class of 1977. He attended the Gorin Christian Church and was a member of the First Christian Church in Memphis.He married Danette Kae Dannenhauer on August 12 1978 at the First Christian Church in Memphis and to this union three children were born.Deny was currently serving as a Scotland County commissioner was a bus driver for Gorin School for the past twenty-four years a member of the MSHAA refereeing basketball games in the surrounding area for twenty-seven years and assisted his wife in the operation of their business Countryside Flowers in Memphis. He served as chairman of Northeast Missouri Pheasants Forever for several years served as a board member of Northeast Missouri Community Action Agency and the Northeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission. He also served as superintendent of the sheep barn for the Scotland County fair.Deny was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting fishing and gardening but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and his grandson.He is survived by his wife Danette of rural Memphis a son Casey Clatt and his wife Lydia two daughters: Kaela Clatt and her fianc Jared Shelley all of Memphis and Abby Clatt of rural Memphis a grandson Carter Clatt and a sister Delinda McQuoid and her husband Jim of Gorin Missouri. Other survivors include his mother-in-law and father-in-law Darlene and Jack Dannenhauer of Gorin Missouri two sisters-in-law: Dana Hauk and her husband Kenny and Becca Dannenhauer and two brothers-in-law: Aaron Dannenhauer and his wife Stacie and Adam Dannenhauer all of Memphis Missouri aunts uncles nieces nephews cousins and many many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and an aunt Mary Belle Clatt.Funeral services will be held Saturday March 5 2011 at the First Christian Church in Memphis with Reverend Jim Campbell and Pastor Barb Hagerla officiating. Music will be provided by Angela Westhoff pianist and vocalist Shelby Westhoff. Abby Clatt will provide an arrangement on the fiddle. Burial will follow the service in the Gorin Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Casey Clatt Jared Shelley Rick Day Rodney Gares Rodger Holton and George Wriedt. Honorary bearers will be Brad Altheide Kenny Clatt Aaron Dannenhauer Adam Dannenhauer Kenny Hauk and Brent Rockhold. A memorial in Denys honor will be established by the family and may be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home 378 South Market Street Memphis Missouri 63555.A visitation will be held on Friday at the Memphis Funeral Home with the family present from 5 until 8 P.M. to greet friends and relatives.Online condolences may be sent to the Clatt family by logging on to mmphisfh@nemr.net.
