Callie Dorene Moore, 93, of Memphis, Missouri died Wedenesday, April 12, 2017 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis.

She was born August 26, 1923, the ninth of eleven children, in rural Scotland County Missouri, to William and Bessie Lee (Mathes) Becraft.

Dorene grew up during the depression in rural, northeast Scotland County and attended North Barker Grade School, completing the eighth grade. She attended Bloomfield High School through the tenth grade and then moved with her parents from their farm in Stiles, Iowa, to Memphis and graduated from Memphis High School in 1942.  She was a good student; loved all business classes and received several awards for her expertise in shorthand.

Dorene met her future husband, William Sydney Moore, during her junior year of high school and they were married November 28, 1942, in Macon, Missouri and to this union, three children were born. They celebrated sixty-two happy years of marriage.

Dorene was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her and Sydney's livestock business from 1962 until his death in 2005. She was a wonderful cook and will be remembered by many for her delicious cinnamon rolls, cornflake candy and homemade ice cream.  She was a talented seamstress, teaching both of her daughters to sew.  She enjoyed painting and raising flowers, was a 4-H leader for several years and was a member of the Memphis Business & Professional Women's Local Organization.  Dorene loved to sing.  She sang for many funerals and she and her daughter, Sandy, sang many special duets at the Baptist Church.

She accepted Christ at a young age at Barker United Methodist Church and was a faithful Christian all her life, teaching her children to love the Lord. After her marriage, she became a member of the Edinburg Baptist Church where she led the singing for church services. She later moved her membership to the First Baptist Church in Memphis where she sang in the choir and served as associational music director and secretary, leading hymn sings for many years. Dorene also served tirelessly on the kitchen committee for many years.

Dorene was a devoted wife to Sydney, loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. She loved her family and her church family and maintained a close relationship with her siblings all of their lives.

She is survived by two daughters: Sandra Lee Orr and her husband, J. W., of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Mary Ann Kirkpatrick and her husband, David, of Memphis, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Judy Moore Piper, and her husband, Tom, of Pittsfield, Illinois; six grandchildren: Laurie Orr Jorgensen and her husband, Tom; Tracy Orr Born and her husband, Brady; Jennifer Orr Twisdale and her husband, LeRoy; Brandon Moore and his wife, Hope; Ryan Kirkpatrick; Andrea Kirkpatrick and eight great-grandchildren: Schae Moore, Brock Moore, Brynne Moore, Kylie Jorgensen, Zeke Born, Braden Born, Parker Twisdale and Hudson Twisdale. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law: Helen Becraft and Madelene Becraft and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dorene was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Charles Thomas Moore, who passed away in 1970 while serving with the armed forces in Viet Nam, four sisters:  Florence Weilbrenner, Marjorie Evans, Estelene Becraft, Lela Vetrice Goins; six brothers:  Lowell Becraft, Russell Becraft, Robert Becraft, Millard Becraft, Eugene Becraft, Don Becraft and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles Holland and Myrtle Irene (Myers) Moore and brother-in-law and sister-in-law  Arthur and Nancy (Moore) Gifford.
