Dorothy Ann Kelly, 94, of Santa Marta Retirement Center, Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Edina, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026 surrounded by family.

    She was born on December 17, 1931 in Edina, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond E. and Florence Louise Kriegshauser Cahalan.

    She graduated from St. Joseph High School, in Edina, Missouri, in the Class of 1949, and was employed at the ASC Office as a loan officer.

     Dorothy married Lawrence “Larry” Raymond Kelly in November 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, Missouri, and they shared 63 wonderful years together.

    She was strong in her Catholic faith, enjoyed swimming, skiing, golfing, playing bridge and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed Furniture Markets, expanding the Kelly Furniture Stores, and furnishing and developing apartments with her husband. Her greatest joy in life was being a loving wife and mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren.

    Dorothy is survived by her four children and their spouses: Pat (Mollie) Kelly, Leawood, KS, Mike (Cheryl) Kelly, Columbia, MO, Judy (Carroll Wayne) Wilkerson, Columbia, MO, and Mary Lynn (Chris) Berning, Lenexa, KS, thirteen grandchildren: Laura (Jeremy) Griffith, Ben (Rachel) Kelly, Lauren (Dan) Crosby, Brian (Catherine-Clare) Kelly, Matthew (Annie) Kelly, Ryan (Sam) Wilkerson, Eric (Camille) Wilkerson, Adam (Sara) Wilkerson, Kelly (Max) Meyer, Ashley Wilkerson, Brad (Katie) Berning, Jeff (Renee) Berning and Kim Berning, and twenty-five great-grandchildren and three on the way. Sister-in-laws, Susie Cahalan and Joann Sigman; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

    She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Kelly, parents, Raymond and Florence Cahalan, brothers, Bob Cahalan and Ray Cahalan, Jr., brother-in-laws, Paul Sigman and Richard Kelly, sister-in-laws, Cora Kelly and Mary Cahalan.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 14251 Nall Ave, Leawood, Kansas, with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church.

    Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2026 at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Edina, Missouri.
