Edna Mae Garnett, 77, of Memphis, Missouri, died March 17, 2015, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri. She was born March 15, 1938, in Lewis County, Missouri, to Leroy and Helen (Wilsey) Rice. Edna attended Leonard High School at Leonard, Missouri and was a graduate of the class of 1956. She married James Elmer Garnett on June 16, 1956, at Shelbina, Missouri and to this union four children were born. Edna was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and canning much of her produce. She also derived much pleasure growing flowers, watching birds and especially hummingbirds. She spent many hours sewing; creating costumes and blankets for her grandchildren. Edna realized her greatest joy when she could be with her children and grandchildren and she especially enjoyed playing games with her grandkids. She is survived by her husband; two daughters: Peggy Holt and Jim Brown of Memphis; Kathy Collins of Yukon, Oklahoma; two sons: Randy and Michele Garnett of Memphis; John Garnett and Rose Wheaton of Bloomfield, Iowa; ten grandchildren: Bryan and Lanea Whitney, Aaron and Cassidy Whitney, Chad and Heather Whitney, Drew Holt and Shannon Thompson, Ben Collins, Alisa Collins, Grant and Karlie Collins, Reed Collins, Michael Garnett and Kaela Cook and Brandon Garnett and Raven Day. Also surviving are six great grandchildren: Hannah and Emma Whitney, Adalyn Whitney, Brenna, Kirah and Carley Whitney; nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous friends, a very special friend, Maxine Ruth and Jim and Edna's dog, Lucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Roy Rice; a brother, Carl Rice; a son-in-law, Bruce Collins and her parents-in-law, Eugene and Burnadeene Garnett.
