Ellen Gundy 83 of Memphis Missouri died Friday evening March 6 2009 at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis Missouri. She was born April 24 1925 at Baring Missouri to John and Mary Cecelia Delaney Fetters. Ellen graduated from Memphis High School Class of 1943. She married Ted Gundy November 28 1945 at the St. Michaels rectory in Kahoka Missouri. To this union six children were born. She worked for the Bank of Memphis for many years and for Farmers & Merchants Bank and Tippett Oil Company. She then attended Kirksville College of Cosmetology and worked in a tanning salon doing manicures and facials. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church and the St. Johns Altar Society. She was also a member of the Wallace W. Gillespie Memorial Post 4958 Ladies Auxiliary. Ellen enjoyed playing bridge bingo and playing slots at the river boats.Ellen is survived by her husband Ted of the home three daughters: Mary Ann Eager and her husband Kenneth of Raytown Missouri Rita Jarvis of Kansas City Missouri and Laura Michele Garnett and her husband Randy of Memphis Missouri three sons: Michael Mike Gundy of Kansas City Missouri John Kevin Gundy and fiance Melanie Snyder of Memphis Missouri and Ted Mitchell Mitch Gundy of Memphis Missouri. Also surviving are a brother John Fetters and his wife Marilyn of Canton Missouri four sisters: Mary Rockhold and her late husband Jess of Memphis Missouri Betty Fetters of Memphis Missouri Joan DeRosear and her husband Dwight of Memphis Missouri Mildred Klem and her husband Ron of Memphis Missouri eleven grandchildren: Teresa Barber Christopher Eager and his wife Stana Danielle Elhabbal and her husband Muhannad Mo David Jarvis Lisa Gundy Jeff Gundy John Cody Gundy CodyRay Gundy Delaney Gundy Michael Garnett and Brandon Garnett. Great-grandchildren surviving are Jerell Barber Dante Barber Sam Noah Maddie Emma Gabriel and Harrison Elhabbal one great-great-granddaughter Nya Barber and many nieces nephews and friends.Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson Luke Gundy and a brother-in-law.Visitation will open after 9:00 A.M. on Monday March 9 2009 at the Memphis Funeral Home with the family present from 6 to 8 P.M. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday March 10 2009 at St. Johns Church with Father Joseph Hoi and Father Bill Kottenstette concelebrating. Vocalists Christopher and Stana Eager and Lori Fulk will be accompanied by organist Connie Courtney. David Jarvis will serve as lector gift bearers will be Delaney Gundy and Sam Elhabbal and eucharistic ministers will be Gretchen Melvin and Eric DeRosear. Burial will follow in the Memphis Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Bill Camp Tom Deberry Darrell Harvey Greg Shelley Clark Simpson and John Scrimpf. Honorary casket bearers will be Gary Aldridge Forrest Martin Vic Orf and Rick Fowler. As an expression of sympathy memorials may be given to St. Johns Catholic Church or the Scotland County Cancer Fund.
