Elma Elizabeth Seals, 85, of Arbela, Missouri, died Tuesday evening, September 23, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born June 22, 1929, in Sutter, Illinois, to Albert and Edna Matilda (Wollbrink) Beeler. Elma grew up and attended school in Illinois. She married Dale Franklin Seals on February 27, 1949, at Tioga, Illinois and to this union seven children were born. The family moved to Missouri in February of 1956. Elma has spent 58 years on the farm, alongside Dale, raising their family. In her younger years she would plant and tend a two-acre garden. She also enjoyed baking, sewing and quilting. Elma quilted with the Methodist Church women. She was a member of the Memphis United Methodist Church. She is survived by her seven children: Owen Seals and his wife, Kathy, of Green River, Wyoming; Wanda Meyer and her husband, John, of Sioux City, Iowa; Ross Seals and his wife, Reta, of Linn, Missouri; Gloria Stearley and her husband, Ralph, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Monte Seals and his wife, Bekki, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mark Seals of Arbela, Missouri; Karla Seals and her husband, Bryant Arioso, of Jefferson, South Dakota; nine grandchildren: Rachel Harken and her husband, John, Daniel Seals, Elissa Meyer, Matthew Seals, Lucas Seals, Samuel Stearley, Ursula Koster, Jane Langschied and Wyatt Seals; nine great grandchildren: Emmalene, Sean, Caitlin, Liam, Lillian, Ivan, Tyler, Logan and Cayden; one sister, Arlene Lantz, of Carthage, Illinois and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Elma was preceded in death by her husband Dale, November 8, 1995, her parents and three brothers; Leo Beeler, John Beeler and Glen Beeler.
