Ethan Nicholas Shahan, 31, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, at the University of Missouri Hospital surrounded by family.

Ethan was born on August 7, 1991, in Kirksville, Missouri, the youngest son of Richard Craigg and Beverly Sparks-Shahan.

He attended Knox County High School and graduated in the Class of 2010. Ethan lived his entire life in Knox County and worked as a carpenter, four years at Casey's General Store, and at Cardwell Lumber for eight years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, outdoor activities, girls, cards, and spending time with family and friends. He could always be found showing younger family members the art of fishing.

Ethan is survived by his parents, Richard and Bev Shahan of Edina, Missouri; a brother, Denis Shahan of Hurdland, Missouri; a sister, April and Kent Franke of Novelty, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Gabrial, Meranda and Donavan, Mercades, Blake, Issac, Aiden, Serenity, Haylee, Robert, Samuel, Katalina and Jasimen; along with a host of cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and a sister-in-law, Amelia Shahan.

Memorial Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
