Frances Jane Craig 91 of Memphis Missouri died Friday March 16 2012 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis Missouri.She was born July 27 1920 to Merle and Dollie I. Williams at Kirksville Missouri. Frances Jane was a graduate of Memphis High School Class of 1938 and received her teaching certificate from Missouri State Teachers College at Kirksville Missouri.She married Harry Earl Craig on June 27 1953 at the Methodist Church in Memphis Missouri and to this union a son was born. Frances Jane thoroughly enjoyed her work as an elementary teacher in the Memphis school system for 34 years retiring in the spring of 1984. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter C and a 50-year member of the Kahoka Chapter #40 Order of the Eastern Star.She enjoyed fishing gardening spending time with family and hosting family gatherings. Her greatest enjoyment was realized when she had the opportunity to babysit for her grand-dog Lucky.She is survived by a son John Craig and his wife Donna of Memphis and many friends.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.Visitation will open after 10 A.M. on Friday March 23 2012 at Memphis Funeral Home with the family present to greet relatives and friends from 6 until 8 P.M.Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Frances Jane will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday March 24 2012 at Memphis Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Campbell officiating.Visitation will open after 10 A.M. on Friday March 23 2012 with the family present to greet relatives and friends from 6 until 8 P.M.To honor her memory a contribution may be made to the Scotland County Senior Nutrition Center and may be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home 378 South Market Street Memphis Missouri 63555.
