Helen Yoder Gochnauer, 88, of Gorin, Missouri, passed away June 19, 2015, with family present at her side, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, Missouri. She was born March 29, 1927, in Nappanee, Indiana, to Cephas J. and Bernice B. (Weldy) Yoder. Helen moved to Tampa, Florida, in 1950, where she met Norman Kreider Gochnauer and they were married August 26, 1951. To this union, three children were born. Helen was a homemaker and an avid quilter. She and her husband did inner city mission work for thirty years. He passed away in August of 1997. Helen moved to Gorin, Missouri, in May of 2007. She was a member of the Sarasota Mennonite Church in Sarasota, Florida. After moving to Missouri, she attended the Cornerstone Mennonite Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Jay Yoder; a granddaughter and a great grandson. Helen is survived by a daughter, Judith Herr and her husband, Edwin, of Gorin, Missouri; two sons: James Gochnauer of Plain City, Ohio and Wayne Gochnauer of Tampa, Florida. Also surviving is a brother, Allen Yoder, of Clemmons, North Carolina; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
