John W. Fox, 73, of Downing, Missouri, entered into rest Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri, after a four month illness. John was born on February 1, 1941, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the son of Ivan H. and Hettie G. Fox. He was raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and united in marriage to Nora W. Martin on March 19, 1960. Together they shared nearly fifty-four years of life's joys and sorrows. Three sons and three daughters were born to this union. In 1974 they and their family moved to Novelty, Missouri. Seventeen years later they moved to Scotland County, Missouri and were members of the Indian Creek Mennonite Church near Memphis, Missouri. John is survived by his wife, Nora Fox, of Downing, Missouri; his sons: J. Richard Fox and his wife, Erma, of Memphis, Missouri; Terry Fox and his wife, Karol, of Leon, Iowa; Jay Fox of Memphis, Missouri; his daughters: Linda Parker of Columbia, Missouri; Donna Martin and her husband, Nevin, of Denver, Pennsylvania and Nora Hoover and her husband, Jason, of Manitoba, Canada. Also surviving are twenty-three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, five brothers: Allen Fox and his wife, Vera, of Memphis, Missouri; Ivan Fox and his wife, Barbara, of East Earl, Pennsylvania; Lloyd Fox and his wife, Esther, of East Earl, Pennsylvania; Adam Fox of Hutchinson, Kansas; Luke Fox and his wife, Alta, of East Earl, Pennsylvania and a sister, Mary Zimmerman and her husband, Chris, of Liberty, Kentucky. John was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Hettie Fox, two brothers: Paul Fox and Melvin Fox, an infant grandson, Justin Fox and an infant great granddaughter, Jayla Fox.
