Kenneth Alvin Denny, 77, of Baring, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, Illinois.

Ken was born on April 12, 1946, in Mankato, Minnesota, the son of Donald and Phyllis Tosch Denny.

He attended school in Mankato, Minnesota before completing his education with a Master's in Education.

Ken honorably served his country in the United States Army, serving two tours in Vietnam.

He was employed with the Department of Mental Health until his health failed and her retired in 2006. Over the years he was very active in the Boy Scouts, serving as a scout leader.

Ken married Melinda Joan "Joni" Mutchler and they made their home in Plainville, Illinois.

Ken is survived by his wife, Joni Denny of Baring, Missouri; a step-daughter Shauna Sharp of Chesterfield, Missouri; a sister, Jackie Allison of Peoria, Illinois; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Denny; his mother, Phyllis Reed.

Ken's wishes were to be cremated and interment will take place at a later date.

Doss Funeral Home of Edina, Missouri is assisting with his wishes.
