Larry Lee Overstreet, Sr. , 87, of rural Edina, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at his residence south of Edina, Missouri, surrounded by family

.

He was born on July 22, 1936, west of Edina, Missouri, the son of Clinton Roscoe and Neva Irene Clair Overstreet.

Larry attended Pleasant Valley Rural School, west of Edina, Missouri, for eight years, and graduated from the Edina High School in the Class of 1954.

He helped on the family farm before becoming a mechanic for the Knox County Quarry, Marbles Redi-Mix, Knox County Road and Bridge, and later with Dick Hopkins Heating and Cooling.

On March 5, 1956, in Shelbina, Missouri, Larry married Lois Ann Smith and to this union six children were born and they made their home south of Edina, Missouri.

He was a member of the Hurdland Baptist Church, in Hurdland, Missouri and enjoyed hunting, fishing, anything outdoors but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Larry is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Lois Ann Overstreet; six children, Charlene Leeann and Scott Overstreet-Johnson of Columbia, Missouri, Lorrie Sue and Butch Pantaleo of Clarence, Missouri, Larry Lee Jr. and Marsha Overstreet of Hurdland, Missouri, Letitia Marie Roberts of Edina, Missouri, Leslie Clinton Overstreet of Edina, Missouri, and Neva Lynnette and Emily Overstreet of Warsaw, Missouri; a sister, Bonnie Sue Kite of Edina, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Neva Overstreet; and a brother-in-law, Mike Kite.

A Celebration of Larry's Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri with Brother Rex Sykes officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Linville Cemetery in Edina, Missouri.

An expression of sympathy in memory of Larry Overstreet may be left to the family's wishes. A memorial may be left at or mailed to the Doss Funeral Home 208 N. 4th Street, Edina, Missouri 63537.
