Lorie Beth Holcomb, 37, of Brashear, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, after a sudden illness. Lorie was born on January 22, 1982, in Memphis, Missouri, the daughter of William Stanley and Shirley Jean Doscher Green. She graduated from the Scotland County High School in the Class of 2000 and was a member of the Memphis Christian Church both of Memphis, Missouri. On January 18, 2003, in Memphis, Missouri, Lorie married Michael Owen Holcomb and to this union two sons were born. She was employed as a city carrier for the United States Postal Service, in Kirksville, Missouri. She enjoyed fishing with the family, but most of all she loved spending time with her boys. Lorie is survived by her husband, Michael Holcomb of Brashear, Missouri; two sons, Jacob and Cory of the home; mother, Shirley Green of Memphis, Missouri; grandmother, Lennie Doscher of Memphis, Missouri; Michael's parents, Gary and Wanda Hicks of Brashear, Missouri; a brother, William and Johanna Green; a sisters, Christina and Stephen Schroeder, Amber and Rob Egenberger and Lynnette and Chris Parsons all of Memphis, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Cassy Trueblood of Nevada, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Green; and a sister, Vera. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 13, 2019, with the family receiving friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Edina, Missouri. Burial will be in the Brashear Cemetery in Brashear, Missouri. Pastor Donnie Powell will officiate and Casket Bearers will be Harlan Jewell, Nathan Shaver, Gunner Lonberger, Michael Colegrove, Jesse Geison and Bobby Magruder. An expression of sympathy in memory of Lorie may be left to her boys "Jacob and Cory's" education fund.
