Lyle Arthur Otte, 78, of Edina, Missouri, passed away at his residence in Edina, Missouri.
He was born on February 5, 1946, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Lawrence Earnest and Hazel Irene Coffin Otte.
Lyle's family moved to Missouri, north of Rutledge, in 1948. He attended Millport Country School, Rutledge Elementary and Baring High School, and was the first class to graduate from Knox County High School, in the Class of 1964.
After high school he went into farming and logging, and in 1967 Lyle went to work for Burnham Manufacturing "the glove factory" and retired in 1992 after 25 years.
On July 1, 1995, in Rutledge, Missouri, Lyle married Lois Schneider Bentine and they celebrated more than 25 years together.
They were members of the New Testament Church in Rutledge, Missouri. He enjoyed reading westerns, hunting, fishing (which he always threw back) and visiting with friends and his church family.
Lyle is survived by a stepson, Lenny Dale Benstine of Edina, Missouri; a sister, Laura and John Schenk of Memphis, Missouri; three sisters-in-law, Lila O'Malley, Charlotte Sweets and Donna Otte of Edina, Missouri; a granddaughter, Laura Ann and a great granddaughter; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois Otte; two sisters and their spouses, Betty and Jessie Morrison, Maureen and Lynn Cochran; and three brothers, Russell, Willis and Donald Otte.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2023, at the New Testament Church in Rutledge, Missouri.
Visitation will also be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Church.
Interment will be in the Colony Cemetery in Colony, Missouri.
An expression of sympathy in memory of Lyle Otte may be left to the New Testament Church. A memorial may be left at or mailed to the Doss Funeral Home 208 N. 4th Street, Edina, Missouri 63537.
