Marilyn Lou Prebe Dunn, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in Sebring FL on September 21, 2026, at the age of 88. She leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, and a family who will forever cherish her.

Marilyn was born on August 27, 1938, near Greensburg, Missouri, to Louie Albert Prebe and Velma May Klote Prebe. She and her identical twin sister, Evelyn, were born at their family home. Marilyn grew up with her four sisters and attended a one-room rural school through the eighth grade before attending Memphis High School, graduating with the Class of 1956.

After high school, Marilyn worked at Farmers and Merchants Bank until January 1959 and later worked for Farmers Mutual Insurance Company in Columbia, Missouri.

But Marilyn’s greatest love story began long before her working years. She started dating the love of her life, Keith Dunn, during her junior year of high school. They were married on February 1, 1959, and shared 67 wonderful years together.

Their marriage was blessed with three sons: Brant William, Eric Keith, and Curt Albert.

Marilyn became a member of the Church of Christ on August 23, 1962, and remained a devoted member throughout the rest of her life. Her faith was an important part of who she was and the way she lived her life.

Marilyn was a devoted wife and mother who took great pride in her home and family. Her home was her castle, and she loved having everything in its place—except, perhaps, her husband’s farm office! She took great pride in her yard and flowers and continued mowing her own yard well into her early 80s.

Marilyn loved to travel and enjoyed all kinds of crafts, but she had a particular gift for sewing. She was an excellent seamstress who designed and made countless clothes for her family. She also shared her talent with others, sewing wedding dresses, prom dresses, and other special garments. Her creativity, patience, and attention to detail were gifts that touched many people.

Along with caring for her family and home, Marilyn played an important role in the family farm. She handled much of the secretarial work for the farm, the Northeast Missouri Hereford Association, and the Missouri Hereford Association. She quietly kept many things organized and running smoothly, always willing to do whatever was needed.

While Marilyn accomplished many things throughout her life, what she cherished most was simply being with her family—especially her grandchildren. They brought her tremendous joy, and the time she spent with them was among her most treasured memories.

Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband, Keith, of the home; two sons, Brant (Laverne) Dunn of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Eric (Gwen) Dunn of Bible Grove, Missouri; six grandchildren, Tyler Dunn of Ohio, Autumn Dunn of France, Jordan (Cayli) Dunn of Kansas City, Hannah (Sam) Sellers of Alabama, Jared Dunn of Montana, Jackson Dunn of Virginia; and a step grandson Reyron Young, daughter-in-law Laurie Dunn Hillebrand; sisters Violet Eggleston and Marjory (Leland) Stott; devoted nieces Kim and Dee; and nephew Kyle; several other nieces and nephews; and her close friend and travel buddy, Celina Erickson.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her youngest son, Curt A. Dunn; her identical twin sister, Evelyn Magruder; her older sister, Virginia Monroe; brothers-in-law Bob Monroe and Don Magruder; nephew Ross MacNeill; and daughter-in-law September Dunn.

Marilyn will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her strong faith, her love of her home and garden, her creative hands, and the countless ways she cared for the people around her. She lived a life centered around the people she loved, and her greatest joy was seeing her family happy and together.

Her family will carry her memory forward in the traditions she created, the skills she passed down, the stories they share, and most of all, the love she gave so freely. She was deeply loved, and she will be deeply missed.

Funeral Services will be at 2 pm, Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Memphis Funeral Home in Memphis, Missouri.

Visitation will be 12-2 pm, October 2, 2026, at the funeral home in Memphis, Missouri.

Interment will be in the Bible Grove Church of Christ Cemetery in Bible Grove, Missouri.
