Marsha Lee Goucher 62 Memphis Missouri passed away Tuesday May 22 2012 at her home in Memphis. . She was born April 5 1950 in Centerville Iowa to Paul H. Bud and Martha Frances Morgan Burns.She grew up in the Memphis area and was a 1968 graduate of Memphis High School. She attended Hannibal-LaGrange University at Hannibal Missouri and then transferred to Southeast Missouri State University at Cape Girardeau Missouri where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in home economics after which she attended Northeast MissouriState University in Kirksville Missouri receiving a teaching degree. Marsha taught various grade levels and subjects in the Wyaconda Luray Edina and Scotland County R-1 School systems until her retirement in 2006. She ended her career teaching family and consumer science at the high school.She was married to David H. Peterson in 1973 and to this union two children Kristi and Kyle were born. They later divorced and she married Norman Dean Goucher on May 27 1984 at the First Christian Church in Memphis.She was a member of the First Christian Church in Memphis and the Wallace Gillispie Memorial Post #4958 VFW. Marsha enjoyed teaching her many students and developing long lasting friendships with them. She loved taking motorcycle trips with her husband and their riding buddies and spending time at lake Thunderhead kayaking quilting boating enjoying her lake friends and being followed around by Gus. She cherished the long talks and loving moments with her mom and dad and looked forward to shopping and laughing with her brother sister-in-law and their girls. Marsha relished the time she spent with her friends sewing taking trips giggling and talking late into the night. She especially loved playing smiling and being surrounded by her grandchildren and daughter. She is survived by her husband Norman Goucher of Memphis a daughter Kristi Michele Peterson-Whitt and her husband Shad Bellevue Nebraska her parents Paul Bud and Martha Burns Memphis a brother Michael L. Burns and his wife Susan St. Charles Missouri six grandchildren: Christian Sascha Gabriel Reygan Kyle and Jadyn all of Bellevue two nieces: Brittany Burns and Brianne Burns an uncle cousins many many friends and her loving companion Gus.She was preceded in death by a son Kyle D. Peterson in 1996 and her grandparents.Visitation will open at the Memphis Funeral Home on Friday May 25 2012 after 9 A.M. with the family present to greet relatives and friends from 6 until 8 P.M.Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 26 2012 at 11 A.M. in the First Christian Church in Memphis with Reverend Jim Campbell and Nicki Webber Moore officiating. Music will be provided by April Wilson and Tom Cotton vocalists accompanied by Joan Hinds. Burial will follow in the Memphis Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Joshua McBee Zach McBee Jared Drummond Mikel Harvey Travis Stott and Scott Triplett.
