Mary V. Doll, 91, of Bloomfield, Iowa, died Monday, February 23, 2015, at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield. She was born June 23, 1923, in Davis County, Iowa, to Jesse Cleveland and Dora Lee (Bradbury) Gordy. She graduated from Bloomfield High School, Class of 1941. Mary married Russell Francis Doll on March 23, 1941 at Kirksville, Missouri and to this union, two children were born. Russell preceded her in death on October, 30, 1981. Mary and Russell owned and operated Motel 63 in Bloomfield for twenty-two years. She worked at the Gilfillan Clinic for ten years and also at P.S. Notions. She was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church, a fifty-four year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the Davis County Hospital Auxiliary and the Davis County Historical Society. She enjoyed Wednesday Family Lunch Day and coffee time with friends, playing golf, dancing, especially square dancing, traveling with her companion, Wray Wardlow and spending time with her family and especially her granddaughter. She is survived by her son, Ronald Doll and his wife, Lana of , Mesa, Arizona; her daughter, Ramona Archer and her husband, Steve, of Moulton, Iowa; her granddaughter, Shannon Henkenius and her husband, Chuck, two great grandchildren: Noah Henkenius and Katie Henkenius, all of Monroe, Iowa; her grand dog, Archie Doll of Mesa, Arizona; her sister,Dorothy Dixon and her husband, Dean, of Bloomfield, Iowa; nieces, nephews , friends and a very attentive niece, Delpha Hopkins, of Bloomfield. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Violet Willcoxson and four brothers: Forrest Gordy, Lee Gordy, Dale Gordy, R. Eugene Gordy and special friend Wray Wardlow.
