Mary Joyce Horst, 76, of Baring, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at her home north of Baring, Missouri.
She was born the daughter of Carmi and Emma Mae Eby Stauffer, on March 6, 1947, in Martindale, Pennsylvania.
On September 16, 1967, she was united in marriage to Leon B. Horst and to this union twelve children were born. They moved their family to Missouri in January of 1973 and were members of the Indian Creek Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference.
Mary Joyce is survived by husband of more than fifty-six years, Leon B. Horst; eleven children, Marvin and wife Elsie Horst of Novelty, Missouri, Albert and wife Eunice Horst of Baring, Missouri, Savilla and husband Luke Zimmerman of Rutledge, Missouri, Mildred and husband Jason Hoover of Gorin, Missouri, Daniel Horst of the Home, George and wife Lou Ann Horst of Cantril, Iowa, Aaron and wife Sarah Horst of Memphis, Missouri, Ruth Horst of the home, David and wife Thelma Horst of Memphis, Missouri, Lester and wife Sharla Horst of Riverton, Wyoming, and Leonard and wife Tana Horst of Memphis, Missouri; fifty-two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Julia Zimmerman of Memphis, Missouri and Lucille and husband Mark Horning of Stevens, Pennsylvania; a brother, Daniel and wife Jane Stauffer of Ephrata, Pennsylvania; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by parents; a son, Philip Horst; a granddaughter, Lois Kay Zimmerman; and a brother-in-law, George N. Zimmerman.
Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024, at the Indian Creek Mennonite Church south of Memphis, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center south of Memphis, Missouri.
Interment will be in the Indian Creek Mennonite Cemetery south of Memphis, Missouri.
