Mary Magdalene Mooney Justice 80 of Memphis Missouri died Sunday April 10 2011 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis. She was born November 27 1930 at home in Kahoka Missouri to Willis Oscar and Martha Beatrice Eagon Mooney. She attended Kahoka Elementary and Kahoka High School.She married Leland Eugene Justice on February 20 1947 in Kahoka Missouri and to this union eight children were born.Mary was a mother and a homemaker. She loved her children grandchildren and great grandchildren. One year prior to moving to Memphis in 1962 she and Leland purchased the Mackey and Williams Grocery Store and opened their grocery business under the name of Lee and Marys Superette. After relocating to Memphis Mary assisted her husband in operating their new enterprise making many friends who first presented as their customers. After selling Lee and Marys Superette Mary stayed home to continue raising her family while Leland managed the Benner Grocery Store. In 1964 Leland and Mary started a new venture as owner-operators of the Authorized Sears Catalog Store in Memphis. While managing this business together they undertook the construction of a new home with Leland using what little spare time he had to work on the project because he also worked for the Shellor Globe in Keokuk during which time Mary would single handedly operate the Sears Catalog store. Through the years this business was housed in three different locations before a final move was made to a building on West Monroe Street on the south side of the square. On April 1 1987 Mary and Leland sold the Sears Catalog store to Scott & Julie Wickert and in turn bought property in Blue Eye Missouri which was located close to Branson.Mom loved the front porch of her home in Blue Eye where she could see Table Rock Lakes and the many boats on the water. While sitting on her deck she enjoyed watching the hummingbirds come to her many feeders which hung from the eaves and she particularly enjoyed a roadrunner who would come onto the deck and peer in the living room window. While in Blue Eye Mary worked at Shepherd of The Hills Gift Shop. She thoroughly enjoyed having her children come for visits at which time she would take them to the many attractions Branson had to offer including the opportunity to attend many of the shows on the strip when she could attain complimentary tickets. Mary and Leland moved back to the Memphis area in 2000 due to Lelands declining health.She was a member of the First Christian Church and a past member of Eastern Star. She is survived by six children: Pam Ulry of Reed Springs Missouri Marsha Monroe and her husband Kenny of Memphis Rick Justice and his wife Gini of Independence Missouri Tony Justice and his wife Amy of Harrisburg Missouri William Jobe Justice and his wife Cindy of Memphis Cindy Antal and her husband Mark of Lancaster Missouri twenty-seven grandchildren: Sean Justice April Lane and her husband Jacob Amanda Jo OBrien and her husband Jeremy Samantha Wroughton Todd Ulry Brandon Ulry and his wife Stacie Melissa Monroe Heather Monroe Elizabeth Monroe and her fianc Troy Carper Nicole Vallejo and her husband Geoff Kristin Ott and her husband Jim Aimee Hamilton Anastasia Justice Jaicee Justice Russel Justice Michael Justice Jared Justice Jeremy Justice Jeremy Justice Jessica Justice Jacob Justice Kelsey Justice Lacy Antal Kylie Antal Joey Antal Damian Antal seven step-grandchildren: Jared Wilcox Darian Neece Kiersti Neece Jason Farris Paige Troutman Tyler Troutman Jed Troutman twenty-four great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. Other survivors include a sister Mildred Syferd and her husband Scott of Macon Missouri a brother Joe Mooney and his wife Grace of Florida a sister-in-law Shirley Hagen of Minnesota a brother-in-law Ray Justice and his wife Cleta of Paola Kansas nieces nephews many friends and a very special family friend Patty Ahland of Memphis.She was preceded in death by her parents her husband two sons: Ernest Bud Justice and Stanley Eagon Justice two grandsons: Thomas Dean Justice and Christopher Dean Justice.Funeral services will be held at the First Christian Church in Memphis Missouri on Friday April 15 2011 at 2 P.M. with Reverend Jim Campbell officiating. Music will be provided by vocalists Joe and Lori Fulk and pianist Ann Luther. Burial will follow in the Kahoka Cemetery in Kahoka Missouri. Casket bearers will be grandsons and honorary casket bearers will be granddaughters.A visitation was held at the Memphis Funeral Home on Thursday April 14 from 6 until 8 P.M.
