Mary Ann Priester, 71, of Bloomfield, Iowa, died at her home on Sunday, November 8, 2020.

She was born March 10, 1949, at Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Frank Roy and Bertha Matilda (Lagerstrom) Maxwell.  She attended school in Ottumwa, graduating from Ottumwa High School in 1967 and Iowa Technical School in 1968.

Mary Ann was united in marriage on April 24, 1971, to Carol Arnold "Butch" Priester, Jr. at the First Lutheran Church in Ottumwa and to this union two daughters were born. They later divorced.

Mary Ann was employed by the Bloomfield Democrat as a typesetter and editor of the family section of that newspaper for twenty two years, retiring January 2, 2002.  She then accepted employment in the office of the city of Bloomfield, retiring in July 2015.

She was a Past Royal Matron and member of Christina Court # 3 Order of Amarath, member of Friendship Chapter # 46 order of Eastern Star, member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Majority Member of International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Past Mother Advisor "Rainbow Mom '' to many girls, Master of The Grand Cross of Color and past Grand Officer Member of Chapter B, P.E.O..  She also spent many years working with the Davis County Fair and Davis County Rodeo.  She especially enjoyed playing bingo at the fair, and volunteering wherever she was needed. She also enjoyed visiting with everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are her two daughters:  Farra Snook and her husband, Joe and Lindy Huggins and her husband, Tony, all of Bloomfield; ten grandchildren: Dalton Anderson (Carson Dean), Madonna Hendricks, Kalyssa Boer, Carrigayn Snook, Andrew Snook, Brogan West, Anthony Snook, Kasch West, Taylor Huggins, Payton Huggins and a great granddaughter, Luna Jefferson.  Also surviving  is her brother, Charlie Maxwell, of Ottumwa, Iowa.
