Omar S. Zimmerman was born on January16, 1943, in Leonardtown, Maryland.

He was the first child of Norman and Ella Zimmerman. Omar spent his earlier years living in Loveville, Maryland, on the family farm with his parents and brothers and sisters. He attended school at Clements, Maryland.

He moved to Rutledge, Missouri, at the same time his parents did, in 1974. He then bought his own house in Rutledge and lived there until about four years ago when he moved in with his brother, Fred Zimmerman, on the ranch where their parents had lived.

Omar developed heart problems a few years ago and was in and out of hospitals since January of this year. He died at his home Friday morning, August 11, 2017.

Omar was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, John David and a sister, Ruth Marie Keesie.

He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Shannon Zimmerman and his wife, Miriam, of Latham, Missouri; Margaret Bange and her husband, Ray, of  Downing, Missouri; Ella Jean Shank and her husband, Gerald, of Lancaster, Missouri; Fred Zimmerman of Rutledge, Missouri; Rodney Zimmerman and his wife, Arlene, of Denver, Pennsylvania; Clay Zimmerman and his wife, Ida Mae, of Farmington, Missouri; Sharon Fox and her husband, Alvin, of Memphis, Missouri and Sandy Zimmerman of Queen City, Missouri.
