Phyllis L. Woodward, 82, of Edina, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at her residence in Edina, Missouri.

She was born on February 10, 1931, in Streator, Illinois, the daughter of Bert Norval and Genevieve Wilson Ferrell.

Her father worked for the railroad and that brought her to Baring, Missouri where she attended school.

Phyllis married Don L. Woodward on August 30, 1947, in Kirksville, Missouri and they made their home in Edina, Missouri.

She was a homemaker, caring for their two children, but found time to help in her husband’s business during the busy season and holidays.

Phyllis was a member of the Edina Christian Church and the Classy Lassie Red Hats. She enjoyed bowling, quilting, and visiting at the Nutrition Site but most of all she loved the time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Don Woodward of Edina, Missouri; a daughter, Donita and her husband Donald Carroll of South Bend, Indiana; three daughters-in-law, Helena “Ellie” Woodward of Edina, Missouri, Sharon Culler of Edina, Missouri and Vickie Lynne of Springfield, Missouri; a sister, Sarah Jensen of Streator, Illinois; a brother-in-law, John and his wife Carol Woodward of Newburgh, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Rowena Dahler of Springdale, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Carrie, Amy, Jeff, David, Sarah, Rachel and Robert; thirteen great grandchildren, Alec, Maggie, Zoe, Kaitlynne, Tyler, Conner, Addison, Ashley, Caleb, Jonas, Mackenzie, Owen and Levi; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Mickey Lynn Woodward on September 22, 2007; a brother, Don Richard Ferrell; and a brother-in-law, Dean Jensen.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, Missouri.

Pastor DeWayne Welborn will officiate and music will be provided by Carol Hayes and Brenton Karhoff. Casket Bearers will be Kenny Cooper, Ralph Johnston, Ray Prebe, Steve Miller, Delbert Rourke, Brian Banks, Alva Grant, Alan Rimer, Keith Spory, Charles Gossman, Dennis Harlow and Bob Glasgow. Honorary Bearers will be the Classy Lassie Red Hat Club.
