Ray Hasenjaeger, 80, of Edina, Missouri, passed away May 31, 2023, in Edina, Missouri.

He was born on July 22, 1942, in Marthasville, Missouri, the son of Raymond August and Alberta Anna Carolina Schoppenhorst Hasenjaeger.

Ray attended Warrenton High School before continuing his education at the University of Missouri, in Columbia, Missouri, receiving a Bachelor's of Science in Agriculture and Masters in Education.

On October 2, 1966, in Warrenton, Missouri, Ray married Golda LaVerna Stewart and to this union a son was born.

After their marriage, Ray took a job in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, in the Conservation Service. He taught Agriculture Classes in Hopkins, West Plaines, Willow Springs, Washington, East Central College, and Edina, Missouri, for more than 32 years before retiring. In retirement Ray was employed with the KMEM Radio in sales and broadcasting local games.

Ray enjoyed teaching kids about agriculture and was involved with the Missouri State Fair for nearly 40 years with sheep shows. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tending to his bird dogs and loved visiting with people in the community.

Ray is survived by his wife, Golda Hasenjaeger of Edina, Missouri; a son Brad and Jenny Hasenjaeger of Bennet, Nebraska; step children, Ronnie Gordon of Creston, Iowa, and Jan Reno of Burlington Jct., Missouri; and a grandson, Sawyer Hasenjaeger; step grandchildren, Jenny Ware, Shawn Gordon, Autumn Waske, and Shawna Hendren; a sister-in-law, Lulu Hasenjaeger of Marthasville, Missouri; along with several step great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Delvin Hasenjaeger; and a step granddaughter, Shelia Gordon.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. till service time on Sunday at the Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

Interment will be in the Linville Cemetery in Edina, Missouri.

Pastor Graig Connell will officiate and music will be provided by Carol Hayes and Jenny Hasenjaeger. Casket Bearers will be Allen Hasenjaeger, Darrell Hasenjaeger, Mike Peters, Donnie Davis, Tim Schrage, Terry Hettinger and Ben Hettinger.

An expression of sympathy in memory of Ray Hasenjaeger may be left to the Edina United Methodist Church. A memorial may be left at or mailed to the Doss Funeral Home 208 N. 4th Street, Edina, Missouri 63537.
