Ricky Lynn Phillips, 54, of Gorin, Missouri, died Monday, May 5, 2014, at Gorin, Missouri. He was born June 12, 1959, In Evansville, Indiana, to James Everett and Bertha Virginia Applegate Phillips; one of eleven children. He grew up in Indiana and Florida and attended Fort Lauderdale High School, completing the eleventh grade. He married Denise Lynn Tetlow on June 12, 1982, at Margate, Florida and to this union four children were born. Ricky worked as a road supervisor for Harddrive, a subcontractor, doing road construction in Florida and moved to Gorin, Missouri in 2009. He was most recently employed with Shannan's Pallet Mill in Granger, Missouri. Ricky enjoyed hunting but realized his greatest pleasure when he could spend time with his family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents; grandson, Connor Rick Philips, four sisters: Betty Sorrells, Jeannie Litherland, Linda Bond, Peggy Justice and two brothers: William Wheat and Donald Phillips. He is survived by two sons: Joel William Phillips and his significant other, Jessica Newcomer, of Fort Myers, Florida; Calvin Richard Philips, Gorin, Missouri; two daughters: Jessica Lynn Tetlow and Allie Joyce Phillips, both of Memphis, Missouri; a grandson, Preston Caine Sanchez of Memphis and Derek Manuel Sanchez, considered as a son and sibling. Also surviving are two brothers: Ronald Phillips of Indiana and Everett Phillips of Georgia; two sisters: Mary "Polly" Rice and her husband, Wayne, of Indiana and Sue Lloyd of Indiana.
