Obituary

Ronnie G. Kraus, 62, of rural Memphis, Missouri, died Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. He was born June 16, 1953, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Karl Junior and Claris Hopp Kraus. He attended Scotland County R-1 High School, graduating with the class of 1972. He was a Mason with Memphis Lodge #16 AF & AM and a member of the Arbela Methodist Church. Ronnie was a farmer and enjoyed collecting and selling scrap iron. He was involved in the sport of tractor pulling and was associated with the Wyaconda Tractor Pullers. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a lifetime member of Freedom of Road Riders motorcycle club He is survived by two sisters: Charlotte Sommer of Hurdland, Missouri; Vonda Harvey and her husband, James, of Magnolia, Texas and two brothers: Darrel L. Kraus and his wife, Kathryn, of Memphis, Missouri and Harlan K. Kraus and his wife, Connie, of Downing, Missouri. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at the Memphis Funeral Home with Pastor Nate Frazee officiating. Burial will follow in the Memphis Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Danny Garrett, Austin Garrett, Danny Doscher, Sr., Danny Doscher, Jr., James Dalton, Devin Holt and David Wiggins. To honor Ronnie's memory, a contribution may be made to the Scotland County Food Pantry and may be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
