Obituary

Ruth Marlene Dale 72 of Memphis Missouri died Saturday August 9 2008 at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook Iowa.She was born November 2 1935 in LaFayette County Missouri to Roy and Frieda Meyer Falk.She graduated from Sweet Springs High School and also St. Johns Lutheran College in Winfield Kansas where she received her degree in Elementary Education. Ruth married Martin E. Bud Dale on December 17 1960 and to this union four sons were born.Ruth was a Certified Nurse Aid and worked for many years at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital. She was active in the Red Hat Society Moving On Group and the Lutheran Church Aid Association. She was a member of and active for many years in the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Memphis. Ruth also served as a volunteer for many area organizations including the Downing House Museum Scotland County Senior Citizens Nutrition Site and Scotland County Clothes Closet. She enjoyed sewing gardening hummingbirds and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.Survivors include her sons: Rodney Dale of Kirksville Missouri Bryan Dale and his wife Brandi of Morning Sun Iowa John Dale and his wife Kris of Morning Sun Iowa and Todd Dale and his wife Sandra of Gladbrook Iowa. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren: Michael Hamblin Zachary Dale Elizabeth Dale Kayla Dale Jamie Dale Joshua Dale John Dale Jr. Adam Dubois Taylor Dubois Rylinn Dale and Kasia Dale.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Martin.Visitation will be held after 12 P.M. Tuesday August 12 2008 at Memphis Funeral Home with family greeting friends and relatives from 6 until 8 P.M.Funeral services will be held at 9 A.M. Wednesday August 13 2008 at St.Paul Lutheran Church in Memphis Missouri with Pastor Mark Appold officiating. Music will be provided by Crystal Cotton and Shirley McKamie.Burial will follow in Memphis Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Michael Hamblin Joshua Dale John Dale Jr. Adam Dubois Dr. Randy Tobler and Scott Wickert.Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church and may be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home 378 South Market Street Memphis Missouri 63555.Online condolences may be sent to Ruths family at www.mmphsfh@nemr.net.Arrangements are under the direction of Memphis Funeral Home.
