Ruth Elaine Heater, 72, of Kirksville formerly of Edina, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

She was born May 15, 1953, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Gibson Daniel and Patsy Ann Donovan Heater.

Ruth had many hobbies. She loved reading, gardening, cooking, sewing, and crocheting. She also liked camping with her kids and her friends, She loved to have friends and family over for game nights. She enjoyed her dog, Sammy and her pet turtle Shelli.

Ruth is survived by a son, Shawn Ogden of Fairmount, Minnesota; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Ogden of Edina, Missouri; a sister, Joyce (Darrell) Webb of Waukee,Iowa; grandkids Elliott (Brianna) Ogden of Walnut Grove, Missouri, Patrick Ogden, Cayanna Ogden, and Terry Ogden all of Edina, Missouri, Alexandra Ogden, and Kathryn Ogden of Fairmount, Minnesota.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and son Jason Ogden.

A Celebration of Life will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
