Obituary

Sharon Ann (Stevenson) King, 73, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away at Evelyn’s House Hospice Care in Creve Coeur, Missouri surrounded by her family.

She was born March 31, 1953, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the oldest daughter of Donald Louis and Shirley Jean Bagley Stevenson.

Sharon attended Knox County High School graduating in the Class of 1971 and received a BS in Education from Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State University) in Kirksville, Missouri. She continued her education with a Master’s in Computer Resource Information Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was lifelong teacher since August of 1976, except for a brief break to work in IT at Monsanto, a path her son Jason followed and worked his first job after college.

Sharon taught at Francis Howell Central High School in St. Charles, Missouri and Seager Middle School in Cottelville, Missouri, from 2002 through 2015 as a Gifted Teacher. She served as an Assistant Director for the Francis Howell Central High School Spotlight Players Theater, sponsor for Destination Imagination and Scholar Quiz Bowl. She was a dedicated band mom for Francis Howell Central Spartan Regiment Marching Band.

In her spare time Sharon enjoyed Off-Roading, owning a 1993 and 2004 Grand Cherokee Jeep, a 2000 Cherokee Jeep, and a 2013 10th Anniversary Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.

She was an active member of Midwest Jeepthing, proud supporter of the Francis Howell Central Spotlight Players and Spartan Regiment Marching Band. Her other hobbies included photography (so many photos), cats, collecting anything Red, White, and Blue but most of all she loved spending time with her son, daughter-in-law and her two grandchildren that she was so proud of.

Sharon is survived by a son, Jason and his wife Megan King of St. Charles, Missouri; two granddaughters, Lucy and Margot; five siblings, Brian and Melinda Stevenson of Weatherby Lake, Missouri; Pat White of North Port, Florida; Kathy and Rick Turpin of North Port, Florida; Gary and Janet Stevenson of Memphis, Tennessee, and Paul and Michelle Stevenson of Weatherby Lake, Missouri; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Shirley Stevenson; and a brother-in-law, Tony White.

A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from Noon on Saturday until service time at the funeral home.
