Shirley Ann Klocke, age 75, of Edina, MO passed away at the Knox County Nursing Home in the early morning of June 15, 2024.

She was born February 24, 1949, the daughter of Ruby Pearl (Walker) Fountain and Nolan Fountain. She was raised in her hometown of Colony, MO.

She was united in marriage to Glen Everette Klocke on April 1, 1967 in Colony, MO. He still resides on the farm in Knox County.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Herbert Fountain and Neil Fountain.

Shirley is survived by her husband of more than 57 years, Glen Klocke; four children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren: JoAnna (Jon) Peck of Kirksville, Missouri, and their children, Michaella (Edgar) Gua of Hillsboro, IL and Zachary (Morgan) Peck of Liberty, MO; Amy (Don) Goodman of Crestview, Florida and their children, Noah (Erika) Goodman of Wright City, MO and great-grandchildren Remi and Parker Goodman of Wright City, MO, Hannah Goodman of Tampa, FL, and Lucy Goodman of Crestview, FL; Robert (Michelle) Klocke of Hawarden, IA and their children Emily Klocke of Sioux City, IA, Breanna Klocke and Madeline Klocke of Hawarden, IA; Elizabeth (late husband Jason) Ogden of Edina, MO and their children, Elliott Ogden, Patrick Ogden, Cayanna Ogden, and Terry Ogden of Edina, MO and one brother Burbert Fountain of Rutledge, MO.

Shirley attended elementary school in LaBelle and Colony MO, and later at the Knox County High School graduating in May of 1967. She attended the Baptist church in Colony as a child, then later attended the First Christian Church in Edina with her family, and finally became a member of the First Baptist Church of Edina. Shirley enjoyed teaching Sunday School and teaching and preparing crafts for VBS. Shirley had many hobbies. She loved reading, mowing, gardening, cooking, sewing, and driving the tractor. She attended the New Era ladies club, and was very active with her children's 4-H classes and projects. She loved to attend the State Fair in Sedalia with Glen and the kids. She also liked camping with her kids and her friends, and water skiing and boating on the weekends at Shelton Wilson's Lake. She loved to have friends and family over for Fourth of July celebrations and game nights.

Shirley loved the Lord, and it was evident in her life before and following a car accident involving a drunk driver that happened when she was only 29 years old. She was determined not to let that accident stop her from living a full life! She was joyful and full of humor most of her days. She was a fighter and would get back up when life knocked her down. She relied on her faith to get her through daily struggles and tough times. She said on many occasions, "If God let me live through not only one, but two accidents, He's not done with me yet!" She lived her life with that in mind, and always looked out for others and their needs above her own. She was a loving Mother, wife, grandmother, and friend.

Funeral services will be held at the Doss Funeral Home on Friday, June 28th at 2:00 pm.

A visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 before the funeral, with Doug Wilson officiating the ceremony.

A graveside service will be held at the Colony Cemetery following the funeral.

An expression of sympathy in memory of Shirley Klocke may be left to the Knox County Nursing Home Activities or Hospice of Northeast Missouri. A memorial may be left at or mailed to the Doss Funeral Home 208 N. 4th Street, Edina, Missouri.
