Stephen James Brassfield, 63, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Boone County Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Stephen was born June 25, 1961, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of James Albert and Kathryn Mahala Wright Brassfield.

He attended Lucas Elementary School, and Tech High School in Des Moines, Iowa.

Stephen worked as a cook for many restaurants, including Johnny's Steak House, Perkins, Village Inn, Denny's and catered for many events.

In later years he enjoyed helping his brother restore antique motorcycles and trucks.

Stephen is survived by one daughter, Kristina Alvarez of Des Moines, Iowa; a brother, David Brassfield of Novinger, Missouri; Iowa; three sisters, Jamie Ashby of Murray, Iowa, Allison Jensen of Greene, Iowa, and Kellie Flanery of Panora, Iowa; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Memphis Cemetery in Memphis, Missouri.
