Gertrude Trudy Porter 87 of Memphis Missouri died Monday April 4 2011 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis.She was born November 5 1923 at Cherry Box Missouri to Lena Bell Petre and Pearl Weber. Her early years were spent living on a farm and attending school in rural Macon County.Trudy married Gerald Leonard Porter on March 17 1945 in Kansas and to this union five children were born. They lived in rural Macon County before moving to Scotland County when Gerald became the manager of MFA in Memphis. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time outdoors on her lawn mower in her garden or attending her beautiful flowers. Also in her spare time she enjoyed refinishing antique furniture bowling and playing cards Trudy found her most enjoyment in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star Kahoka Chapter #40.Trudy is survived by three daughters: Brenda Doucette and her husband Michael of Fort Myers Florida Lana Dial and her husband Gary of Memphis Missouri Lisa Small and her fianc Edward Norman of Kirksville Missouri two sons: Gregory Porter of Memphis Missouri and Douglas Porter and his wife Vicky of Kirksville Missouri eight grandchildren: Belinda Allen and her husband Chuck Natasha Ballew and her husband Christopher Rebecca Dodds Sally Dodds Jason Porter and his wife Amanda Lydia Clatt and her husband Casey Darin Porter and his fianc Rebecca Brian Dial and his fianc Justina nine great grandchildren: Lydia Allen Leah Allen Ethan Beaver Jacob Willis Hannah Ballew Elizabeth Ballew Elli Porter Jax Porter and Carter Clatt. Other survivors include nieces nephews and very special friends: Doris Atwater and Debbie Miller.Funeral services will be held April 8 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Memphis with Reverend Jim Campbell officiating. Music will be provided by Kathy Campbell accompanist and Becky Zahn vocalist with hymn selections including The Lords Prayer and Amazing Grace.Burial will follow the service in Mt. Tabor Cemetery near Atlanta Missouri. Casket bearers will be Brian Dial Gary Dial Darin Porter Doug Porter Greg Porter and Jason Porter. Honorary bearers will be Belinda Allen Natasha Ballew Lydia Clatt Rebecca Dodds and Sally Dodds.
