Virginia L. Kinnamon, 88, of Altoona, Iowa, formerly of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa, May 25, 2022 at 2:58 pm.

Visitation will be held June 9, 2022 from 4 to 6 pm at Bloomfield Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Bloomfield, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held at 11am June 10, 2022 at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield, Iowa.

Virginia Lee Inskeep Kinnamon was born May 6, 1934 to Edgar and Marie Bowling Inskeep at their farm home in Davis County, Iowa.  She passed away on May 25, 2022 at Taylor House Hospice near her final residence in Altoona, Iowa.

Virginia attended a rural one-room school through eighth grade and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1951.  She worked as a clerk in the Davis County Treasurer and County Assessor's office for four years following graduation.

She was united in marriage to R. Jack Kinnamon on March 27, 1955 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa and she lived in the home they constructed in Bloomfield, Iowa for 60 years.  To this union, two children were born: Jay Brian and Jan Renee.  Virginia was a loving mother and successfully balanced her family life and work career. Virginia and Jack owned and operated the Kinnamon Insurance Agency in Bloomfield for 22 years.

Virginia enjoyed her life by spending time with her family and many friends. In addition, she and Jack traveled extensively, both internationally and throughout the U.S.  She was also an avid bridge and cribbage player.  She was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church, served on many committees and was a CWF leader for a number of years.

She is survived by stepson Michael (Mardine) Kinnamon of San Diego, California, son Jay (Ann) Kinnamon of Overland Park, Kansas and daughter Jan (Brian) Stevenson of Bondurant, Iowa.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Anna (Mark) Hamill, Leah Kinnamon, Kyle (Mirta) Kinnamon, Kevin (Arianna) Kinnamon, Ryan Boatman, Cayle (Tyler) Elliott, Dane Stevenson and four great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gerald Dean Inskeep and husband R. Jack Kinnamon of 55 years.

There will be a visitation on June 9 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Bloomfield Christian Church, 107 N. Davis, Bloomfield Iowa.  Graveside services will be at the Bloomfield IOOF Cemetery on June 10 at 11:00 am.
