Wanda Lou Swope 71 died Tuesday February 2 2010 at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis Missouri. She was born September 1 1938 at Gorin Missouri to Lewis Fredrick and Beulah Faye Purvis Kraus. Wanda graduated from Wyaconda High School Class of 1956 and worked for the Gorin Argus and until most recently for the Memphis Democrat as office manager. She married Carl Eugene Swope on January 16 1971 at the Gorin United Methodist Church in Gorin Missouri. Carl died February 19 2002. Wanda was a very private lady. She enjoyed her work flowers stained glass and any cement figurines. She is survived by a brother Gurden Kraus and his wife Sue of Wayland Missouri two sisters: Dianna Kappler and her husband Dean of Peoria Illinois and Shirley Huggans of Monroe City Missouri. Other survivors include three nieces: Fawn Duve and her husband Mark of St. Louis Missouri Dana Brummett and her husband Lee of Lees Summit Missouri Tina Tonsor of Monroe City Missouri a nephew Lou Kappler of Peoria Illinois and a great niece and great nephew Haley and Michael Brummett. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband a brother Fredrick Eugene Kraus and a nephew Timothy Kraus. Cremation has been accorded. A graveside service will be held at the Memphis Cemetery at a later date.
