Reverend Wilda Geraldine Clark Conn of Jamesport, Missouri, 87, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, Missouri. Wilda was born November 7, 1926, near Hopkins, Missouri ,to Allen Glen Clark and Nellie B. Hall Clark Brown on the farm of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cloud Hall. Wilda was raised by her grandparents, due to her mother's serious illness. She attended Golden Rod Country School in rural Hopkins and graduated from Hopkins High School, Class of 1946. After two weeks of dating, Wilda and Dorsey Gail Conn eloped to Troy, Kansas and were married by Judge J. R. Bell on August 3, 1946. To this union three children were born. Reverend Wilda was a minister with the Southern Assemblies of God for fifty plus years. She has worked in hospitals, nursing homes, apple orchards and an Earl May Nursery. She loved traveling; she and her family preached and sang in churches, auditoriums, brush arbors and at tent meetings. Wilda and her husband traveled by covered wagon and ministered along the highways and roadside parks from Little Rock, Arkansas to California. Wilda's two greatest joys in life were her family and sharing Christ when and wherever she could. She had a giving heart for those in need. She collected rocks from everywhere she traveled, enjoyed doing needle work and was very craft oriented. Wilda loved music and loved to sing. She was a member of the First Liberty Full Gospel Church in Kirksville, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cloud and Tennessee Hall; parents, Glen Clark and wife, Fern, her mother, Nellie B. Hall, her husband, Dorsey G. Conn, on September 12, 2003, a brother, Allen Eugene Clark, a sister, Waverly Pride Brown and husband Ron Dawson; five great grandchildren: Michael Henley, Azariah Henley, Baby Henley, Gabriel Henley and Heather Beverage and a foster grandson, Trevor Parker. Wilda is survived by her three children: Gail Eugene Conn of Michael, Illinois; Reverend Ginger Henley and her husband, Reverend Glen Henley, of St. Joseph, Missouri and Gwanda Squires and her husband, Reverend John Squires, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Other survivors include twelve grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a sister Nita Lasley and her husband, Danny, of Bellevue, Iowa; cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Memphis Funeral Home with Reverend Wilburn Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Queen City Cemetery in Queen City, Missouri. Casket bearers will be Gail E. Conn, Allen Henley, Seth Henley, Paul Burton, Larry Liebundguth and Taylor Schross. Honorary bearers are Gary Wiley, Chance Conn, Denzil Zimmerman and Clayton Stitt.
